While overnight hours (typically 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM) are the most requested, we offer both day and nighttime support for the new family, including:
- Caring for your baby while you get some much-needed rest
- Assistance and support with lactation and breastfeeding
- Establishing a flexible and proven eating and sleeping routine
- Sleep tips and guidance for newborn through 6 months old
- Organizing the nursery
- Cleaning and sterilizing pumping equipment or preparing bottles, stocking the changing table, and putting together baby equipment
- Light housekeeping, such as tidying the kitchen, emptying the dishwasher, and helping with laundry
Our postpartum services are geared towards:
- Allowing you to wake up well-rested and at your best for the new day ahead
- Alleviating the sleep deprivation that typically occurs during the first few months
- Anticipating your needs, or taking your direction, and doing whatever needs to be done
- Answering any questions you may have throughout the day or night
- Empowering you to be knowledgeable and comfortable caring for your newborn
We understand that nighttime can be the most challenging time for both the baby and the new parents, which is why most of our clients request support during the overnight hours. We are busy tidying your home and taking great care of your baby while you are asleep, which is why so many of our clients refer to our doulas as “After the Stork’s Nighttime Fairies!”
Our goal is a restful night of sleep for the whole family. Babies really do want to sleep through the night when their little bodies are ready for it. For our long-term clients, we will be available to guide you with proven techniques to help your baby establish great sleep habits. Believe it or not, our goal really is to work ourselves right out of a job!
